But wait, there's still more!

Yup, I'm still lost in my wintry reverie, shopping vicariously for cool weather by cruising the northern online stores. I've rediscovered Browns today.. kind of a British Net-a-Porter, they stock a wide range of designer labels including quite a few I've not seen in the US stores. I've been through the site looking at not only coats today, but also boots, bags, jeans and tops. Well, everything, really! Here are a few new additions to my wishlist, and some just plain interesting or standout items I spotted..

Wishing for winter

I love cold weather. I love rugging up, I love coats, scarves, mittens. I love stinging red cheeks. What a shame for me then that I live in the south-west Queensland outback, a place in which summer temperatures are often around 45ºC, and of wintry desert weather in which despite cold nights down to -6ºC will still often have warm days in the mid-teens. With the Australian summer just around the corner, all that's left for me is to watch on in jealous heat whilst the northern hemisphere slips into winter, and also into all those gorgeous woolly winter coats and jackets coming out this season.

Ah well, nevermind, I suppose. At least I'll still have the consolation of my usual trick of picking up all the winter clothing end-of-season sales during our autumn next year. Here are some gorgeous coats and jackets I'll be hoping to discover on some online sales rack in a few months.. wishful thinking, I know, but what is a life without hope?

Tocca Corrine in Black/Cream

Seven Leather Cadet Jacket

Soia & Kyo Polly S Belted Coat in Cherry

Soia & Kyo Mica Coat in Espresso

Mackage Jessy Ann Short Coat in Maroon

Corpus Quilted Lambskin Bomber Jacket

Net-a-Porter have been ruging up for winter too, with their Coat Addiction feature on this season's exterior style. Although the coat pickings on NAP are a rather mixed bag, skimming past the abominations of one or two Burberry leather coats that would have you looking like an extra from Predator (and not one of the good guys), I did spot a couple of nice coats farther down..

Chloe Double Faced Wool Coat

Philosophy Di Alberta Check Swing Coat

Graeme Black Herringbone Cape Coat

Gorgeous coats, but of the brands shown here Trovata makes a glaring omission. Whilst their Samantha Double Faced Wool Coat, shown below in Tan and Black, is a classic start rather reminiscent of Mackage's post offerings, I can't wait to see what they bring out for FW08.

Mulberry Agyness

A far more interesting looking creature than it's model namesake - nevermind her "I dressed myself today" clown outfits, Aggy has a face so plain that painted white walls are jealous - the Mulberry Agyness from their Early SS08 collection is one supermodel of a bag.

Available in regular 36cm or large 41cm sizes, Mulberry's site blurb mentions it's soft & tactile shape, 3 compartments, plaited side drawstrings and a new style postman's lock, making this new style not only sweet on your eyes but also practical and versatile value for your pocket. The only part of this bag I don't like are those big round tabs by which the straps are attached to the bag; otherwise, this baby in the taupy 'Mushroom' shade is the newest addition to my Mulberry wishlist!

It's just vulgar, Bulga..

Just up on Revolve is this glorious blood-red crackly patent leather clutch by Bulga. Now, is it just me, or does this thing look remarkably like some poor girl's inside-out fanny box?

Part of me thinks the side-on view is worst of all...

Bulga seem to have a thing going at the moment for all things mollusc, as moving on from that clamesque monstrosity I see next this Coin Front Pocket Bag lurking in the shallows. Seriously looking like a couple of oysters crossed with an otherwise decent idea for a handbag, it features the same slippery blood-red crackled patent leather of our bivalve friend above, teamed with two enormous, bulging, folded-over coin purses topped with a couple of golden pearls each. With that eye-catching leather, all those zips, and then too those front purses waiting to leap out and bite at you should you get too close, this is one bag full of overkill that I'm going to give a wide berth.

Throw them back into the deep, Bulga.
